Peter Samoilov was awarded the commemorative badge "Pride of Orenburg region"

This is a new regional award established by Governor Evgeny Solntsev at the suggestion of Hero of Russia Nursultan Mussagaleev.

Peter Samoilov - Head of the Department of Oncology at Orenburg State Medical University, Head of the Surgical Department of Thoracic Oncology at the Orenburg Regional Oncological Dispensary, Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Medical Sciences.

For many years, his professional activity has been associated with an oncological dispensary. He joined the surgical Department of Thoracic Oncology in 1989, and has been its head since 2014. With his participation, microsurgical technologies, videothoracoscopic, bronchoplastic and reconstructive plastic methods of surgical treatment of oncological diseases were introduced into the practice of the department.

Peter Samoilov's doctoral dissertation is devoted to microsurgical esophageal-gastric anastomoses during esophageal resection and gastric cardia. He has been heading the Department of Oncology at OrGMU since 2023.  Scientific work is carried out on the basis of the oncological dispensary, and students and residents are trained.
